Santa’s Grotto Dec 2014

It’s that time of year again.

Santa is coming back to his favourite Grotto. We’re so pleased, it’s such a fun day!

He’s coming on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December, we are now taking bookings!

Santas Grotto here is a wonderful experience for both children and adults alike. Santa has his own very snug grotto where he will greet every child individually or as a family if you wish, and spend time chatting with them.

We need each child to be booked in; for Santa to be able to find a special present for them.

There is a charge of £8.00 per child for this event.

Plus, entry to the Farm Park and the Play Barn for all your group is included in the price, you can stay as long as you wish. A visit to Santas Grotto at The Gincase is a must for the festive season, and will really start the countdown to Christmas.

New Play Time Fun

New play equipment has been installed this spring and early summer, to add an extra “Zummph” to the play time here. A 30 metre long Zip wire that can be used by everyone, has been a huge success up to now, ( including the staff!! 🙂 ) with all ages enjoying speeding under the trees! Also the contemporary designed Quadrifoil climbing frame; there you can climb up over 3 metres, through a mass of criss-crossing ropes; from the top you can see Scotland, Criffel and the Solway Firth. All great fun “down on the farm!” Come on over and give us a try!

Children’s Parties in The Farm Park

The Gincase is the perfect place to hold children’s parties; we have everything you could need! You can have a whale of a time with all the amenities the park has available to you and your group. We have the Go-Karts, Quad bikes, Farmer John’s Playbarn, Auntie Val’s snack shop and of course… all the animals!!

For your party, we can accommodate 6 to 24 children. The party down on the farm includes free entry to The Farm Park, including both the Playbarn and Crazytown, plus a party tea! We can also provide party bags for a small additional cost. There is free entry for 1 adult per every paying child and 2 free adults for the birthday boy or girl!

The Gincase Feature on ITV’s ‘Ade in Britain’

The Gincase Feature on ITV’s ‘Ade in Britain’ hosted by comic actor and presenter Ade Edmonson helping to see our reputation spread far and wide. After being on the hit ITV series there were complimentary quotes from Ade Edmonson himself like ‘The best carrot cake in the world!’ and ‘Yorkshire may have Betty’s… but we have The Gincase’.

We were delighted to feature on ‘Ade in Britain’ and were very proud our cakes got such good recognition. Not only was Ade impressed with our Carrot cake, but there was also our heavenly Egremont Chocolate Cake and Cumberland Courting Cake on offer – both equally as yummy.

Val featured on the show and helped to teach the former Young Ones star to make Cumberland Rum Nicky. The programme is about 18th century Whitehaven; which back then was the second largest port in Britain. It was great to be part of the show and host Ade and his crew at The Gincase for most of the day.

Ade In Britain is themed around Edmondson touring Britain in a Mini to sample the best of British food. In the first series he travelled from north Wales, up the Lancashire coast and to the Peak District. In various locations Edmondson meets local producers and cooks up local dishes and delicacies. The show filmed at the Gincase focuses on the rum trade coming through Whitehaven port and the effect that had on Cumbrian cuisine.

Next time you’re in the area make sure you stop by to try some of our tasty treats; and perhaps learn a bit of history or too. For example, did you know that it is believed the word ‘nicky’ derived from flan ingredients that were often stolen from ships […]

Go Karting in Cumbria

If you’re looking at going Go Karting in Cumbria then look no further than coming to The Gincase. Outside, in the play area, you will find our ‘Grand Hatchery’ Go Karting track. These go karts provide endless fun of power pedal racing for those aged 4 year olds and upwards.

This is an exhilarating activity for children who are too old for the play barn, but still want to have tons of fun. Adults are guaranteed to have a great time too; just don’t get too competitive!!

As well as our go karting in Cumbria adventure, 2013 saw us introduce our ‘Big Tom’s Quad Squad’ quad biking on the other side of the park. Our motorised quad bike track is suitable for those aged 6 and above, but younger ones may ride on them with adult supervision.

So for adventures a little different come check out our go karting in Cumbria, our quad biking or even both! Make sure you call in advance for availability! We look forward to seeing you soon at The Gincase.
