Telly dates!!!!
Our friendly TV presenter, Ade has been back in touch to tell us the dates his programme will be on television.
The new series of Ade in Britain is due to start broadcasting at 4pm on ITV on 4th March 2013.
The CUMBRIA episode, in which Val and The Gincase will feature, is scheduled to broadcast on ITV at 4pm on MONDAY 11TH MARCH 2013.
So considering the time they spent with us that wet afternoon last August, it will be very interesting to see how the programme will turn out. We will await it with eager anticipation.
ADE EDMONSON
IN THE GINCASE !!
Val and The Gincase
is going to be part of a television programme going out on ITV, sometime in the new year.
Ade Edmonson, who gained fame, or was it notoriety with the comedy programmes "The Young Ones" and "Bottom," now has made a series of programmes on regional food called "Ade in Britain". His latest series will include a programme in Cumbria, he and his crew were here late yesterday afternoon (25th Aug) to do the filming.
Their interest was the rum trade of the port of Whitehaven in the 18th century
and the traditional cake, or is it a pie? Cumberland Rum Nickie.
They were here for a few hours and Val gave Ade a demonstration of how to make Cumberland Rum Nickie,
and of course Ade gave helping hand, chopping and mixing and of course the sampling and the odd tot of rum as well!
It was all done with more or less one "take" and Val was said to be a natural.
Thanks to Ade, producers Dave and Caroline and the crew for making the experience so enjoyable, and to finish off they had a good time going down "Crazytowns" big slides!
We look forward to seeing the end result in January 2013 and will let you know when we know more about the time of the programme going out.

Out of a Tragedy!
We had some more unexpected arrivals on the 8th May
A young Saddleback gilt pig that wasn’t supposed to be in pig, gave birth!
But unfortunately she lacked all the mothering skills that we expect from a pig
We thought that we were going to lose all the piglets, but our daughter Corrie, 11, wouldn’t give up! She Googled "bottle feeding piglets", and she took charge of the yet un-named piglet. Corrie started to bottle feed it on calf milk replacer, and it hasn’t looked back.
Now the week old little brown piglet is thriving and looks forward to Corrie coming with her bottle, “you have to be careful though, because she has sharp teeth and can give you a nip” says Corrie.
The Winner of the "Name The Piglet Competition"
is L. Bodman of Whitehaven
she wins a
"Family Farm Park Pass".
Congratulations and we hope to see her soon.
A big thank you to everyone for entering!
New arrivals on the 16th April
Donna our Saddleback gilt gave birth to 5 healthy piglets
Mother and babies are doing very well.
AAAAWWWW!
Cute or what!
CRAZYTOWN HAS ARRIVED!
For 2012, we have taken another big step to create an all weather attraction here.
A huge indoor soft play area has been built inside the Play Barn replacing the old animal pens.
“CRAZYTOWN” is a unique play area designed especially for The Gincase.
Designed to fit in with The Blacksmiths Shop play house installed last year.
Now it all looks like a village built in one of Walt Disney’s cartoon films.
With Racing Slides, Wavy Slides, Spiral Slides and a Little Slide,
An up to 4 years old area for the younger children,
Aerial runways and Crawl Tubes, lots of running and climbing and adventuring.
Plus the Funtastic Tipper Topper Ball Pool Game.
There is lots here to keep children occupied for hours on end.
CRAZYTOWN opened just in time for the Easter holidays and is already proving to be a big success.
And if children are happy then parents are as well.
Lots of screaming, yelling, and laughter.......Simply lots of fun!!
